Consortium project to develop biobased and biodegradable cellulose-based film solutions to replace plastics
The F3 – Films for future project coordinated by VTT aims to develop and up-scale lignocellulose based films solutions and demonstrate their usability in food packing sector.
Focus is on finding compatible and competitive alternative to fossil based plastic materials.
The research sites are in Espoo and Lappeenranta, Finland, where the pilots scale manufacturing lines for films and food packages are located.
